A Pause For Thought
The day is harsh; in noise and light,
I hunker down with fettered sight,
I perch and hoot a mental peep,
In flash of din and sound too bright.But night is still, so smooth, so deep;
My thoughts so clear they outshout sleep;
With vision sharp, I hunt and soar;
While notions hop and answers leap.A pause, in dark, shows even more;
I scan the moonlit forest floor;
A pad of feet, a swoop, a score!
A strike to feed my mental roar.
